Junior Procurement Officer
Your role
This is no commodity buying! Your main focus is to support the preparation and execution of multiple tenders that vary from engineering to (technical) services and consultancy to building/installation and procurement of so called long lead items. These tenders require sophisticated and accurate procedures, dito execution and thus an excellent preparation. The importance of your support is therefor not to be underestimated and there is quite a lot for you to learn from your experienced colleagues and several training programs. And once you fully master your job, the step to Procurement Officer or a Contract Manager role lies within reach.

Add to this your positive, questioning attitude and your natural tendency for organizing and planning, and all key ingredients are in place to turn this into a success. Other requirements we consider of value are:
- Hbo/WO Bachelors or Masters in Business management, Law, or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Good communication skills
- Proficient in Dutch and English

Our team
At our office in Alkmaar, over 100 specialists from more than 20 countries are working on the realization of PALLAS; a 'state-of-the-art' multifunctional nuclear reactor, to be built in the dunes of Petten, just 60 km’s north of Amsterdam. With this new build we secure 30% of the world’s production of medical isotopes for the next 50 years. These isotopes are used for diagnosis and treatment of 30.000 patients a day worldwide that suffer from life-threatening diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular conditions. And by carrying out various nuclear technological research programs, the PALLAS-reactor will also contribute to the development of CO2-free energy supply.
Our procurement department is a blend of seasoned international experts on technical procurement and public tendering strategies, supported by consultants on various specific topics. They are responsible for running multiple tenders for the realization of the entire PALLAS programme, meaning the reactor, production facilities and support buildings. Within this team we have an excellent opportunity for a graduate who has the ambition become a procurement professional.
