Stichting Voorbereiding PALLAS-reactor (PALLAS) forms a personal union with NRG (part of the NRG Foundation; formerly the ECN Foundation) NRG PALLAS.
Peter Dijk is the director of the PALLAS Programme. The management of both organisations consists of Peter Luijten (Interim CEO), Maik Smit (CFO), Hermen van der Lugt (CRO) and Jelmer Offerein, Director Nuclear Operations. There is also a personal union in the supervisory boards. Remco van Lunteren is chairman of both supervisory boards.
Peter Dijk, Director PALLAS Programme
Peter Dijk has been in charge of the PALLAS Programme organisation since February 2022. Peter supervises the construction of the PALLAS-reactor and its connected facilities for the production of nuclear medicines at the Energy and Health Campus.
Before joining PALLAS, Peter was the head of programme development at the Schiphol Group. During the period 2008 – 2016, he was involved as the project director in the construction of the North-South connection in Amsterdam, and he acted as the general manager for the Tram & Subway Service. Previous to that, Peter contributed to the success of the Betuwe-route as the project director.
Large, complex projects combined with social interest mark his career. Peter has the experience and skills needed to realise a unique and complex infrastructural programme.
Peter Luijten, Interim CEO NRG PALLAS
I consider it an honor as interim-CEO to be able to contribute to the further development of innovative products and services with all employees of NRG PALLAS. From my previous work, I have been able to observe how the importance of this is unprecedented for both the diagnosis and the treatment of many patients, and how it’s becoming increasingly more important. I look forward to this new collaboration!
Maik Smit, CFO NRG PALLAS
Maik is an experienced financial leader and hands-on manager. Among other activities, he has been working on the medical isotopes strategy with his team.
Hermen van der Lugt, CRO NRG PALLAS
Hermen has changed and developed the PALLAS organisation from a small project team into the organisation as it is today. After working as a senior researcher at the Telematics Institute (Novay), he led the institute as a programme and innovation director and then accepted the CEO position.
Jelmer Offerein, Director of Nuclear Operations
Jelmer Offerein has a background in Applied Physics and has been working at NRG PALLAS for more than 20 years. He spent much of this time - 13 years - at the High Flux Reactor. The diversity of operational work and the cooperation within a team with a clear goal particularly appeal to him: ensuring a safe and reliable organisation, in order to serve customers optimally.
His long-term involvement with NRG PALLAS stems from a deep belief in the social interest of the company. The crucial role that NRG PALLAS plays in the supply of medical isotopes and nuclear technologies motivates him every day. In addition, he is proud of the employees of NRG PALLAS, not only because of their craftsmanship, but also because of their enthusiasm and strong commitment.
